Annyeong, Daehanminguk

Can you guess? What’s country that I’m going to talk about? The answer is South Korea. I choose South Korea because of in every drama that I watched, they showed such beautiful scenery, beautiful place and also culture. Even though, South Korea is advance country but they still love their culture.
Firstly if you are going aboard you must go to interesting place such as historical place. There are some places that you can visit in South Korea. For your historical journey, the first place is Changdeokgung palace which built in 1405. That are symbolic of Seoul’s long history (it has been the nation’s capital for 600 years), in this area you must have a guide tour to ensure cultural asset and natural environment there. Second is Samcheonggak, here you can learn about traditional culture of South Korea. In samcheonggak they serve six facilities in this place with beautiful hanok (Korean architecture). There are ilhwadang, here you will see hall and Korean restaurant.  Second is cheongcheondang that use for events. Yuhajeong accommodates traditional music, painting experience, reception and meeting. Cheonchudang is a place for tea ceremonies. Chwihandang is for art and craft. Dongbakeon for other culture experience. And for our last historical journey, we’re going to Gyeongbokgung Palace this palace is the main palace in joseon dynasty. In this palace, there are two museums (National Palace Museum + National Folk Museum) which show about joseon dynasty’s 500 years history. The national palace museum has relics about the royal family of joseun and the national folk museum show evolution of Korean people from pre-historic time until joseon era (1392-1910).
If you go aboard, the other thing that you do is taste their traditional food. So, our second destination is taste the food. Like Indonesia, Korean has a spicy food too. I think it doesn’t matter for us at all, but if you are Muslim you must watch for your food because for some food they add some pork.
Food that really famous in Korea is김치 Kimchi, for me that taste is like our ‘asinan’, 비빔밥 Bibimbap (Rice Mixed with Vegetables and Beef), 불고기 Bulgogi (Beef in a Soy sauce Marinade), 갈비 구이 Grilled Galbi (Seasoned ribs), 삼계탕 Samgyetang (Ginseng Chicken soup), 냉면 Naengmyeon (Buckwheat noodles in a cold broth), (Gimbap) for my point is look like sushi, 부침개 / (Buchimgae/Jeon), 떡볶이 (Tteokbokki) this dish have a spicy taste and the rice cakes is plain, 순대 (Sundae) if you think is kind a ice-cream, you wrong, it make from pig intestine, 어묵 Eomuk (fish cake), 튀김Twigim, this is like Japanese tempura , 붕어빵/국화빵/계란빵
(Bungeo-ppang/ Gukhwa-ppang/ Gyeran-ppang),
호떡 Hotteok, I wonder if it’s like serabi because hotteok make from flour and sugar :D, 쥐포, 마른 오징어 (Jwipo/ Dried Squid), 와플 (Waffle), i think it’s look like Europe and American waffle, 닭꼬치 (Dak-kkochi), the ingredients and appearance like Indonesian satay.
For the last but not least and i think this is the best is shopping. South Korea has a lot of shopping center from the traditional until modern super mall. For you who shopaholic, seoul is the best place to do shopping. Seoul has a lot of shopping center such as insa-dong,myeong-dong, samcheong-dong, dongdaemun market, namdaemun market, ewha univ & sinchon, apgujeong & cheongdam, COEX, sinsa-dong garosu-gil, itaewon, hongik univ (hongdae), munjeong-dong, times square, I’park mall. And another destination for shopping is busan, the popular market in Busan are jagalchi market (the largest seafood market), gukje market (traditional market and the one of most popular place in busan), nampo-dong (the first tourist attraction in Busan) and centum city, there’re sunsegae centum city, Lotte department store; from here we also can go to haendae (most popular destination).
I have some tips for you who want to shop in street tender or traditional markets. Because of in Korea, just a few people who can speak English so you need to learn a little about their language. Here there’re several sentences that you can practice , 얼마예요?( Eol-ma ye-yo?) how much is it?, 비싸요(Bi-ssa-yo) it’s expensive, 깎아주세요(Jom kkak-a-ju-se-yo) give me a discount, please!, 입어봐도(신어봐도) 될까요?( Jom ibeo-bwado doel-kka-yo?) can I try it on?.
Now, i make a short plan about vacation in South Korea. I hope someday I’ll go there and fulfill my plan..J
